Nusra Khan

Nusra was called to the bar of Ontario in 2021.

Her practice areas include national security law, administrative and constitutional law and general criminal litigation. She joins Kapoor Barristers after having served as commission counsel for the Public Order Emergency Commission, an independent inquiry into the February 2021 invocation of the Emergencies Act. Prior to that, she clerked at the Federal Court of Canada in 2020-2021 and completed her articles at the Department of Justice in Toronto, Ontario.

Nusra completed her J.D. at Osgoode Hall Law School where she received awards in oral advocacy, criminal procedure, and constitutional law. During her time in law school, Nusra worked as a caseworker with the Refugee Law Office and the Canadian Centre for International Justice, competed in the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition, and served as editor with the Journal of Transnational Legal Theory. Nusra also holds a B.A. in History (First Class Honours) from McGill University.
