Ms. Mariam Sheikh joined Kapoor Barristers as an associate in 2021. She completed her articles as a Judicial Law Clerk with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Ms. Sheikh is an alumna of Osgoode Hall Law School where she received the Torkin Manes Prize upon graduating.
During law school, Ms. Sheikh worked as a research assistant analysing anti-discrimination law in the contexts of national security, immigration, and employment. She also worked as a student intern with the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, supporting survivors of gendered violence with immigration, family, and criminal law matters. Her interest in international human rights law led her to write and publish an editorial book review with the Osgoode Hall Law Journal in her final year of law school. As a student, she served as Senior Style Editor of the flagship law journal and as a Dean’s Fellow for first-year Public and Constitutional Law.
Ms. Sheikh also holds a B.Sc. with High Distinction from the University of Toronto.
